Not quite.

There are two types of cables: The TI Graph Link (GL Cable), or a
homemade. the Graph Link cable has a PIC chip in the middle of the
cable, and no one has managed to reconstruct it yet. A homemade works
different. They are NOT made by TI, unlike the graph link, but are
easy to make yourself. You can make em yourself, or ask somebody here
to make them for you.. 10 dollars or so is all you need to spend this
way. (The graph link from TI is much more expensive.)

The Graph Link can be used with the nice looking TI software.. the
homemade cables only with the less fancy transfer programs.

Generally, you make or buy a homemade (ie: you don't buy from TI),
download some transfer software from http://www.ti-calc.org or
ti-files, and then transfer away.
