There is not a problem with your calculator.  The conversion is being done before the negation.  (order of operations).  Convert negative temps by putting them in parenthesis.  i. e. (-40) C F will give -40 degrees F which is correct, but -40 C F will give -104 F which is wrong.  What it is doing is actually 40 C F = 104 then multiplied by -1.

I think the TI-85 has a problem to convert Celcius to Farenheit!

20C=68F  OK
10C=50F  OK
0C=32F    OK
-1C=-33.8F wrong!!!!!!!!!
-10C=-50F  wrong!!!!!!!!
and so on


Do only I have this problem or ist this normal on the TI
