TI Graphlink error
I hope that you can help me with a problem I am having:
I recently purchased the TI-GRAPHLINK cable from Staples
Office Supplies. Also, I obtained the TI_GRAPHLINK 82 software
for Windows. Here's my dilemna:
I have a serial mouse hooked into the 9-pin port on COM1.
I have an internal modem on COM4.
I am attempting to connect the TI cable in the 25-pin COM2.
However, when I attempt to either send or receive from the
calculator or the computer, I get a "cannot open the
communications port" error. I attempted this 4 times, each
time selecting a COM port, 1-4. I also tried to reboot the
computer while the calculator was off, on, and while in the
sending and receiving mode of the calculator. At first, I
thought it was a Windows95 problem. I then proceeded to
download the DOS version of the software, but to no avail. I
then realized that my computer was not recognizing the TI cable
upon startup because AMI BIOS was not reporting any new ports.
Is this cable defective?? should I return it?? Is their
something I am not doing properly?? Please help for I have no
new ideas.
