Need Help on Parallel Link with 85

I built the parallel link as so many had said, and it isn't working
right.  I can send backups to my PC, I can usually send programs to my
PC, I can occassionally send programs to my 85, and I can't send a
backup to my 85.  This is really pissing me off, as I backed up my
calcultor to try to install ZShell, then when the backup didn't take,
my memory reset.  I have the original backup, but I can't send it to
my calculator.  I have tried building the link with both Micromini
Switching Diodes and Zener 5.1v Diodes, and neigther work.  If someone
could offer some help, or at the very least tell me what type of
diodes they used (maybe even include a Radio Shack part #) I would
really apreciate it.  Also, I am using a parallel plug with removeable
pins, so I only have the five pins indicated in the schematic in the
plug.  Don't know if that could be a problem.
