Re: A92: screen backlight

Your idea would be nice to do. I would like a backlight on my 92 as well.
But I've looked inside at the LCD and it looks like it would be hard to do
safely. The LCD is held down by a double sided sticky foam pad that would
make it very hard to romove. There are 2 main dangers in trying this. 1-
Cracking the LCD while trying to remove it, and 2- Damaging the fragile
connector strips along the top, and side. If even one connection were
broken it would take out an entire row, or column of the LCD. And I guess
the third problem would be getting the "paper" backing off of the LCD and
replacing it. It seems to be glued to the back. I suppose that other calcs
may be put together different than mine, so I won't say you can't try, but
it looks pretty impossible to me. Sorry.

Kebes

PS. The 92 runs on 6 volts which should be enough to run an indeglow strip
(watches are only 1.5 - 3 volts). In fact 6 may be too much, but you could
easily put a resistor in series with it to make it work. Good Luck.
