I believe they are refering to
Digital Signal Processing. (A very cool field of Electrical
Engineering)
But their application is more important. If
they implement wavetable support, if would be possible for games to have an
"INSTALL" option which would take heavily compressed sound data and
shove it on the wavetable RAM. Then everything from music to SF/X could be
done at a much higger quality and with little processing required.
What is DSP ?
