I think you should leave it like it is...
I think almost anyone that writes something for the 92+
will also release a 92 version and vice versa to a
lesser extent.  All you have to do if you have the 92+ is
get a rom dump of the normal 92 before you upgrade
and then you can make sure that your programs work
with the normal 92.
