LF: sounds.

i have just been through bryan turner' s work .
he discovered a way to control separatly i/o output lines.
it seems that this control has allowed on 85 to play wav files through a
speaker directly connected on the i/o port or, more basicaly , to play sound.
how is it possible ( theorically ) to make some sound exit from a speaker
when all you send him is logical data ( i mean square signal ) opposed to
analogical data . shouldn' t we need a digital to analogical converter ?
