Hum.....According to my math instructor, this is not true. As long as the ordered pair fits the equation a+bi it is complex. The ordered pair (2.12,0) is complex, thus, it is 2.12+0i when substutited into the equation. At least this is what was marked wrong on a test I took a while ago. I answered something like 7 for a number that is not a complex number, and is was marked wrong. Thanks! CalenWakefield
