Try to not touch any of the circuitry if you don't really have to. 
specially not the ICs. (processor, memory, control logic, anything black 
and square with lots of pins :) Don't open the calc while on a carpet. 
Wear cotton or hemp clothes. plastic fibres tend to build up static 
electricity
(that last tip is good for all times imo, not only when handling 
electronics :)
ESD can break electronics in very profound ways...  The damage can also 
be dormant, so it doesn't really break until much later.
