Your over simplifying the problem. Does YAHOO cater itself only to the
searching and downloading of mp3s, and doesn't care if their illegal? no.
you can also use YAHOO to shop on the net, read on reviews, etc. so while a
very small portion of their software is used to pirate, that is expected
anyways and is not a problem to the big suits.

Napster on the other hand(God bless it's soul)has roughly 85-90% pirating.
Thats a real problem. If there was only a small amount of users pirating,
like *gasp* yahoo the record companies wouldnt care.
