I know, let's do a third poll! How many people here have been appointed
Commander of Persecution of Off-Topic Posts? How many people have
the right to post off-topic posts yelling at people for posting off-topic?
How many people here care about off-topic posts, and how many care
about posts complaining about off-topic posts? How many people, like
me, don't care at all about off-topic posts but are quickly tiring of hearing
people bitch about it since it does absolutely no good? :-)
If you post off-topic, I'll just delete it. Unless it's interesting in which
case I might reply (and sometimes do). If you post just for the sake
of yelling at others who post off-topic, I can almost guarantee I'll reply,
simply because I get enjoyment out of calling people stupid and
pointing out the hypocracy and reminding them of how much good
they didn't do.
Off-topic posts take almost none of anybody's time and effort and
are considerably less absorbing and easier to kill than on-topic
posts that aren't interesting to anyone. Of course nobody
complains, or even notices those. But hey, some people think
it's fun to complain about the posts that aren't on-topic. And they
do SOOO much more harm than good (in the respect of
on-topicness). If you don't want to get lots of mail, DON'T SIGN
UP FOR A MAILING LIST.
