A89: ASM in general

Hey, I'm new to the whole TI experience... I've been considering taking some 
time this summer and maybe trying to learn ASM... Well, I have a very little 
programming backgroung. I remember a little BASIC... I know some Javascript 
and a very tiny amount of C++ (I didn't have the time to really study it 
then).. I also know HTML very well (But i wouldn't even really consider that 
a programing language... I know it is... but... you know what I mean...). 
Anyway, my question is if ASM can be learned by someone without a whole lot 
of experience... should I try to learn some other programing first as a 
foundation, or do you think I can go straight into ASM and if I spend time 
with it, maybe pick it up?
