the same thing happened to me when I upgraded to ROM 1.05, but I found out 
how to fix it. first, you need to press Esc and ON at the same time, that 
will exit the program for you. next, download the ROM Patcher from 
www.ticalc.org or www.calc.org and patch the file. Then send it to your 
TI-89. Then it should work.
