Title: RE: A89: GIDE and Gooey crap

Well, maybe it runs like SSL licenses.  People pay quite a bit of money every year to have a company like Verisign make a key for you.  Essentially they are saying that you are who you are, and you can trust them because Verisign has seen legitimate papers.  In this case, maybe you can "trust" an application signed by this kit more than if you pick up one from anywhere.

blink... perhaps youc an't make flash apps with the freeware version.
Apparently they are not going to let the freeware version do everything the
professional version can do, or nobody would pay 300 bucks to have the
novelty of saying their software is "professionally" signed.  What would be
the difference?
