hmm... i wonder....
what if there isn't any actual tough encryption on the key?
is the fact that it is 256bit published by TI, or just that it has a
256bit checksum?
because of US encryption export regulations, if the ti89 had any
software which could encrypt/decrypt a 256bit key, it would be illegal
for TI to export it to outside the united states and canada.
Has anyone actually disassembled the boot loader to find out what sort
of encryption it uses?
You know, just step through the process in VTI or something.
It's worth a shot, and if we could write our own ROMs then i think our
official position would be that if TI isn't being helpfull, we can write
our own, better, OS.
