According to the Fargo documentation:

 0 = white on black (inverted)
 1 = black on black (or:ed with old gfx)
 2 = white on black (xor:ed with old gfx)
 3 = gray on white (dimmed black text, clears old gfx)
 4 = black on white (black text, clears old gfx)
