It does not know the transformation cos(x)^2 == 1/2 + 1/2 cos(2x)

This is a fairly basic transformation, from somewhere around Y10,
I think. Since it knows the Euler formula

   e^x = Re( x ) ( cos( Im(x) ) + i sin( Im(x) ) )
   
one would expect the much simpler cos(x)^2 to be there ...
