I'm not even sure my idea would work.  I'm just maybe gonna try it out. 
This one if it actually works would not require you to enter any asmprgm
codes in afterwards, but it would only work after an intentional reset. 
Instead of rescuing 'lost' data after a reset, mine would simulate a
reset and an empty calc, and place a recovery switch somewhere (custom
menu maybe?).  Not nearly as versatile as chmasc, but probably less
complicated.  But it would only be a novelty as it would not guard
against crashes.
