The radio link turned out to be not as cheap as previously expected. If you
want wireless, then the best route to take is the HAM radio and TNC method.
This isn't exactly cheap, but building your own RF stuff isn't cheap either.

By the way, on a side note, I just got a Nokia 6190 GSM wireless phone
running on the Pacific Bell network. I get 16 hours of offpeak time per
month which is VERY good for a wireless phone. By setting up a callback
system with my home PC, I will be able to get 16 hours of wireless 'net
access from a laptop within any GSM area with (and here's the key) NO
AIRTIME CHARGES. I plan on writing a Nokia 6190 driver for the TI-89 along
with Telnet89. I'll release the specs as well so that a driver for the
other calcs can be written. The Nokia is all-digital so you don't need a
modem at all. You simple plug the Graphlink into the Nokia phone and dial
away. Unfortunately, I believe that GSM is only in California and a few
other "large" places like New York, so this may not be an option for most of
you.
