The Mac connector isn't the same as a PS/2.  The PS/2 is a Mini-6 DIN (six
pins), and the Mac uses a Mini-8 DIN (eight pins) for it's serial port.  Take a
look at it sometime - there should be a ring of pins (like on the PS/2), but
also some pins in the middle.
