Other way around.  colder components conduct electricity better, causing the speed to increase.  Ever notice that batteries keep longer if you store them in the refrigerator?  Same deal.  Lowered temperature reduces entropy, causing electronic devices to run better.

thats not totally because of batteries...half of it was because your LCD was
frozen which slows down the display and appears to slow down the calc and
the cold circuits slowed down the calc too.
