i was so lucky! i was reading through some source and i have a program called chem86 by stephen hicks. he wrote it with all the info that i'm looking for in bcd form so it can be directly loaded into the op registers. now i just need another free weekend to put the basic structure together and then refine the program. it's not going to be that big really. i'm so lucky. i emailed him to thank him. jimi
