I'm a programmer, not a hardware guy, but if it's a "single-directional
emitter," then wouldn't it also not be able to pick up unfriendly fire?  :)

But the shots would have to modulate on a different frequency so they
wouldn't screw up all other file transfers in process.  There were a lot of
complaints originally about laser tag leading to violence; if this game
screwed up file transfers, it would be true.  ;)

Other than that, the idea is awesome!  I will personally build a IR link
(and one for my best friend) if someone makes this!  There are a lot of
TI-82s at school, I'm sure a cross-calculator port would be both simple and
popular.

There could be a shot counter, hit counter, and maybe limited ammo?  :)
That would be so cool.  If someone wants to make this, I encourage them!
