I came across this idea too, and actually have tried it.. in sorts. Not a
SINGLE one of the Radio Shacks in my area ( Portland, Oregon ) carried a
3/32" plug that had 3 conductors, and I wasn't about to hack open my TI-TI
cable. So, I ended up building it using a 1/16" plug ( today's standard
stereo plug ) and then went out and got that very converter ( but you have
to carve the top down to fit in the TI ). It works great and it means I
don't have to buy another set of headphones for sound...

Anyway... I'm not sure, but I think the TI requires some sort of
"acknowledgement" signal from the other calc before it will send. That
might just kill the entire thing... but maybe not. Someone have any other
ideas?
