LZ: Virus Update (Sorry)

Please read Entire message - New official virus warning




I'm sorry about all the commotion that I helped to create.  I had never 
heard of the virus [the hoax] until now.  But I did some digging in to 
it and founout the facts about it.  
	It is very true that it is a hoax.  It has been circulating the 
globe for about 4 to 5 years. and it comes back around every 1 to 2 
years.  Thinking logically, there is no possible way to make a virus 
that destructive without encoding it.  Plus, by using your mail, all 
E-mail is UUEncoded or something else.  It doesn't actually execute 
anything.  If the virus actually DID do something after it was 
uudecoded, the original virus must have done the same to the maker of 
the program as soon as he completed it.  He would have had to encoded it 
and in turn it would have to be decoded twice(1-Email - 2-some other 
decoder).  Terefore, it can not exist.  
	Secondly, the alerting message said it was from the FCC - or the 
 Federal communications commission.  That don't have a thing to do with 
the internet.  Speakers, electronic devices, radios, CB's... YES but the 
internet...not a fat chance.  


But I have got word about a OFFICIAL VIRUS related to 'Trojan Horse' (an 
well known line of viruses).  It goes under the file of PKZIP300.ZIP   
DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS FILE OR EXECUTE IT!!  It is a virus!!!  Think about 
it.  If you needed a program to unzip or zip a file, why would you 
download a *.zip file?  Actual files from PKCOM are executable files - 
*.exe - not zip files.  SO WHATEVER YOU DO, IF YOU COME ACROSS THIS 
FILE, NEVER DOWNLOAD IT.  AND IF YOU HAPPEN TO DO SO, NEVER EXTRACT IT - 
JUST DUMP IT.  


	PLEASE FORWARD THIS MASSAGE OR AT LEAST THE LAST HAVE TO ANY ONE 
YOU CARE ABOUT.  THIS ONE IS DEFFINITELY NOT A HOAX.  A FRIEND BACK HOME 
ALREADY FOUND THAT OUT THE HARD WAY!!!
