There are 2 ways to get on a search engine:

  1. Most major search engines (WebCrawler, Excite...) have an
automatic spider that will eventually find your page. You'll have to
wait a number of weaks, but in the end you will have racked up all the
search engines.

  2. Most major search engines have someway to "Add" or "Suggest" a site
to the list. Every site has a different way of doing this, some more
sophisticated than others. Additions range from Excite which will ask
you for your URL so that the automatic spider gets there faster, to
Yahoo which will ask you for everything about the site so that you can
"costomize" what keywords you want. Usualy this way you can get much
higher on a Engines list than way number 1.

I would choose number 2. Cover the real major sites, but don't worry if
you miss some, they probably find you within 3 weeks. When I finished
putting my page (the Spinner Programming Home Page) on the search
engines it was within the top 10 in most search engines when you typed
in TI-82 or TI-85. By the way, the Spinner Programming Home Page is at
http://www2.polarnet.com/rbarker/Spinner/.

Sorry for the long explanation. Short explanations that leave people
with questions can make very long threads. Also I usualy write one or
two Complete e-mail messages per day unlike others who write mass
e-mail.
