The selftest is not just counting, but it is not very useful unless
something is wring with your calc.
The selftest starts by checking the ram (wrinting stuff to it, and then
reading it again). Then it checks th rom (and does the counting to show
you how many times it has checked the rom. Then it checks the display,
by writing patterns to the display. And finally it checks the keyboard.
AS you can see from the above the selftest will normally do nathing
usefull, but i will use the battries as long as it is running.
(Your rom should be okay since you have now checked it 3000 times :) )
