No, not anymore. You can sign it as freeware (0104.key). Make sure you have
used the freeware key in your appheader, build it in ZDS, then copy it to
your TI83PLUSDIR/utils directory and run appsign on it:

appsign 0104.key myapp.hex

A .8xk file will be generated and that is your application!

What part of the AppGuru explanation didn't you get? I might (should) be
able to clarify it.

Regards,

James.

Ok...I finally wrote an APP and have tested it using the Flash Debugger. I
also read the section in App Guru titled "The Application Development
Process," but I'm not sure I fully understand it. Do I have to send my
application to TI for it to work on a regular calculator, or can the signing
be done by myself? I need a key file, right?

Any responses that can clarify this process for me are well appreciated!

Thanks
-Tom
