[A83] Re: TI-86 with flash petition

Its not going to happen. TI is trying to sway teachers to either the
TI-83+/SE or the TI-89. You're customers but really programmers are only a
tiny fraction of their customers. Its probably a lot cheaper for them to
focus on a smaller group of handhelds than to continue supporting everything
ever made and at the moment companies are trying to cut costs. I think the
TI-86 would have been the ideal choice for flash over the TI-83 but they
chose that and I don't think they are going to throw millions of dollars
away of development so us programmers have a better LCD and a few more
features built into the rom, most of which already have been taken care of
or surpassed by the TI-83+'s apps. If we do see another z80 calc, we're
probably going to see something like voyage 200, only based on the ti-83+
since they are now "competing" with palm. *shrug* who knows. I guess it
doesn't hurt to sign a petition.
