I agree completely. I doubt that your new shell will replace Ion, but
you are welcome to try. I would compare what you are trying to do to
the development of new CD-R technology's by Sony and Philips (those
1.5GB recordables), it just won't stick because Ion is already
established and it's easier to continue programming for a specific shell
than to use a new one.
