Re: A83: Ultimatum for Hays...

You should really study the law because you understand it so good.

If you just read copyright law little better you can notice that:

1. Copyright notice (the letter C in a circle, or word "Copyright", or the
abbreviation "Copr.") informs the public that the work is protected by
copyright.

2. Registration is not a condition of copyright protection.
No publication or registration or other action in the Copyright Office is
required to secure copyright.

3. Copyright is secured automatically when the work is created.

So:
You can use copyright notice on your work regardless of your copyright is
registered or not.
The use of a copyright notice is no longer required under U. S. law, so even
if you don't use copyright notice your work is protected by the Copyright
law.
The use of the copyright notice is the responsibility of the copyright owner
and does not require advance permission from, or registration with, the
Copyright Office.

The section about FRAUDULENT COPYRIGHT NOTICE is one of copyright
infringements (unauthorized use of any of the exclusive rights of the
copyright holder) and it says that you may not, with fraudulent intent, put
a notice of copyright that you know to be false.
The similar thing is fraudulent removal of copyright notice or false
representation.

Swedish copyright law is pretty much the same in this issue. :)
