Duuuuude the link port on the calculator is crap.  It's useful for 
transferring tiny bits of 
"lossable" data, such as the other player's position/score.  It would be 
entirely impractical, if not impossible, to share program data over the link 
in realtime.  And plus, as you pointed out, you would have to have the 
opposite half of the program for it to even work.
