Okay, I was planning to work on SQRXZ 82 this entire week except for three
major problems that came up. The first was christmas shopping (which
included writing a computer program from scratch) that put a huge dent in
my schedule. After christmas day, I went to install a third network node
(yes, I manage and own my own network) which is still stumping me on the
addition of the IPX/SPX protocol. The final thing was my dad installed his
16MB RAM incorrectly and broke off three pins off of the motherboard (so, I
got to spend my day today working on fixing that with bits of paper to hold
the memory in place and also bend several pins (out of the 72 pin SIMM
slot) back into shape...grumble, gripe, stupid Intel, complain, uses
PLASTIC and cheap metal on their expensive motherboards)

So, as you can tell, my life as a techie never ends. Moral of the story:
Don't become a techie.

As to the question about SQRXZ, I finished the animation engine. All I
need to do now is basically copy the enemy data to the main character and
add jumping capabilities and edit the scrolling routines in SQRXZ. After
that is done, I will need to personally beta test it (sorry to whoever
asked me about that, I am VERY strict in the appearance of anything I
write, so I have to do the beta testing on my own). Once I'm sure that the
program is flawless, I will release an official 1 level beta of the game.
My schedule looks pretty blank till monday, so I am planning to get some
work done on it. So, actually, I'm getting real close to being done. As
you can tell, progress is slow, but I'm at least making progress!

BTW, if, by a miracle, someone on this list has successfully installed
Lantastic v7.0 using the IPX/SPX protocol (NOT the NetBIOS protocol which
is the default protocol for the Lantastic network), let me know ASAP. TIA
