Kirby TI Land for 68k Calcs
Posted by Michael on 14 December 2003, 21:35 GMT

[kirby screenshot]Six days ago, a really great game was uploaded: Kirby TI Land v1.0. This version of the popular game has 15 levels and 40 monsters, with transformations like power lightning. It is for the 89, 92+, and Voyage 200, with both kernel and nostub versions.

Please e-mail news@ticalc.org if you have any news that would be appropriate for us to post. All e-mails are read, even if we don't reply to you personally. I mention this because recently the amount of e-mail I've been receiving has dropped to nearly zero. Just look what happened to Seth when he sent a news@ticalc.org e-mail; his life will never be the same again. This concludes this ticalc.org public service announcement. Thank you.

down after swallowing the correct creature, most enemies are the normal, everyday food-type creatures that do nothing when you do this. However, some will bestow upon Kirby different powers or weapons (flames, sword, etc...)

Both the file archivers and I somehow missed it, and noticed today.

This is why I was pointing out that had the author sent us an e-mail, we would have specifically known to look at it. 90% of the programs I have posted about I have found by looking in the recently added files. No one e-mails anymore, which is fine, but then decreases the amount of news articles.

That's a very broad question. E-mailing does not mean that your program will be featured, but is very helpful to call programs to my attention.

I looked at your game when it was uploaded.

It's a good program, but it definitely doesn't beat hockey, and I haven't tried kirby yet, but I'm very sure programming kirby would be _much_ harder than programming lights out. :)

Go down to the bottom third of the page. Released 9/5/2003, they later released a patch.

Blame the programmer of course... They emailed me to tell me it was released, and I posted news about it.

My guess is they didn't even submit it to your archives, someone else probably did. If I was the programmer, I'd submit my work the day it was finished, not 3 months later... think about that one for a sec.

The definition of "news"
- a report of recent events

You posted this as news... I can understand maybe a week late, thats normal for you guys... but 3 months? Hah.

We don't post news about programs that are released to *other sites* with an exception of apps and stuff made by TI. Besides what would the point of that be? "Oh yeah so there is this really cool program that you actually can't find in our archives, despite the fact that's what we are most known for, but you can get it here on this other site!" It's always has been a policy and always will be. I thought you would have seen a pattern by now especially when the same happened with PreOS.

>>The definition of "news"
>>- a report of recent events

We didn't say that it was created 6 days ago..."a really great game was **uploaded**."

Thus the "event" was uploading and not creation as you have assumed. I would have thought that a news expert of your caliber would have at least read the article.

thus only a week late...

Sorry I had to do this...you can't ridicule our system without expecting to get at least a responce from out of me.

Exactly. Plus, look at what MV said: "It wasn't added to our archives until December 8th." So, it didn't pertain to this site until a week ago, when it was added.

>>> "You posted this as news... I can understand maybe a week late, thats normal for you guys... but 3 months? Hah."

You can understand maybe a week late-- and it was a week late (seven days). So, you can understand it. So that means there's no problem at all. Right?

it's true that the program was released in september but they did not include the editor on calc.
I tried to contact some members of your team in september but I received no reply. In december i would like to e-mail a member of ticalc (michael) and he reply me :).
I have made a special zip for ticalc (the game included the editor).
And I would have like that kirby was in poty because it was released in this years and not in 2004.
This the simply reason.

True, we did mess up with that. All we can say it that it will be up next year. Sorry!
