TI Marches Onward
Posted by Michael on 9 August 2003, 21:14 GMT

TI has redesigned their calculator website, education.ti.com. The layout looks much better than the old version, in my opinion. There also is a new tutorials section, linking to a large number of tutorials on a variety of topics for all popular TI calculators. Unfortuately the 86 isn't covered, nor has TI made it easy to find mention of it anywhere.

TI also recently sold their 25 millionth graphing calculator, as noted in this press release.

I didn't notice that before, but if you look at the logo and their picture link (see my link above), I just noticed how different the backgrounds are

Well, the logo itself is completely different. 'ticalc' is up and '.org' is down, so the background in that area is the only place that seems to have 'sort of' changed a little

Nope... that's the same old logo. FYI, I'm pretty sure that "4 DTR" thing right above the G is from one of Sami Khawam's schematics, maybe the IRLink or the Pixxpander.

Um, looks the same to me. Yeah, that's always been there, as far as I know.

About a year ago I saw that same stuff. That is one jam packed logo.

And the featured calculator is an 89! (excitement not suprise). This is a great "mother" site for the TI calculators.

I agree... even before I had a TI-89, I thought the calculator pictured up there looked like something you say "ooooooooooooooh..." "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..." to LOL

They didn't mention the model, so it can't have been an 83+.

Just realised that the above comment looks stupid, coming after the above discussion about the 89 in the logo. I was referring to the '25 millionth calculator', and the comment was intended as a joke.

Consider this comment to be self-criticism for the stupidity of the above.
