Congrats on getting the job. How long does it normally take to load a program to the database so people can download it? And what does it take to get a game reviewed?? Just curious...

Normally, it would take a week or two for a program to get added to the archives, but considering the number of files in the queue (1200+), it'll probably take a month or so right now (depending on how fast Joey and Morgan work). As for getting a game reviewed, I think that it's up to the reviewers to decided which games to review, although a nicely written e-mail to them asking for your game (or any other game) to be reviewed probably wouldn't hurt.

Currently their aren't any "Reviewers" in the ticalc.org staff. If you view the staff page, the position is vacant. I don't know if ticalc.org intends on hiring for this position or not. It seems to be a popular position people are willing to fill.

Yeah, it's vacant, but they might hire them soon, so if you're interested, be on the lookout!

I'm surprised you didn't mention you wanted to become a reviewer ... maybe because you've been mentioning it for a while now.

It doesn't matter if they host it I suppose, but what benifit would my site get if they did?? And how can we put a bug in someone's ear to get them to start that back up?? My site doesn't see a whole lot of traffic and I would like to chage that...

You asked them about getting special treatment for your files? Why? If I were them I'd keep your files in the back of the queue just for asking.

part of the archivers job is verification. The archiving process will go much faster if the archiver knows that he does have to verify a program because he knows the author is reliable.

So Barett would be on my list of reliables, along with many others. I don't think that special treatment in this sense is wrong.

I don't know many current names on the z80 side of the coin.

I can't think of any z80 programmers that I would immediately trust, but I know that there are names I'd recognize and immediately trust.

Well, as long as Barrett doesn't TELL Morgan, it doesn't matter what Joey says since Barrett can say it's just some delusion that Joey is suffering (no offence meant, Joey). :)

Barrett first insults me, then he wants me to give him special treatment. Good programmer, yes. Good business, no. Anyway, my plan is to upload the files in the order they come in. Since many people have had files waiting for more than 3 months, the oldest files need posting first.
