I want to know why TI isn't releasing a new OS for the 83+ SE that actaully uses all of its ram? Isn't it supposed to have like 100k in it, but with the OSs released right now, it only uses like 24k. Maybe they are making a OS for it, I don't know

ti's general idea is to keep the compatibility with the 83+. not to mention any prog reqiriring more memory to run should be made into an APP. although more use of the ram would be convienient, and i agree with you there its not nessicery to do math problems which is why we have calculators.

Put your trust in innovative programmers, not TI, to do something innovative because com'on its a CALCULATOR!

Besides, TI knows that we'll buy the calculators even if we can't use that extra RAM ... TI just has no incentive to program an OS that can use the extra RAM.

Read my message above. I wrote to TI and that is what they said about the RAM issue for the TI-83 plus SE.

How do you know there is that much ram?

because VCalc by MV uses that extra ram so u can have two virtual modes on ur calc. haven't u read the boards at all?

Yes I read the boards a lot, but I thought people were lying and I thought TI would tell the truth.

Basic rules:
If somebody like Michael Vincent, Dan Weiss or Patrick Davidson says it, it's true. (That where just three random names, there are many more, you'll quickly learn the names of all the people who know this stuff.)
The address of ti-cares is misleading, every once in a while they'll give you a decent answer, but usually they just give you an answer that doesn't help at all.

since when do you need to have a zip drive for zip files? Last time I downloaded, stuffit opened it just fine, with my zip drive attached to my computer.

When you save an email attachment from hotmail to a disk, it's the same as downloading it.... So just go to TI's site and download it directly to floppy.
