New folders in the archives
Posted by Niklas on 3 August 2002, 17:08 GMT

With the release of the Voyage 200 (or rather some comments on your uploaded files) it is high time for some new folders in our archives. The big one is of course the entire V200 tree - basically a copy of the TI-92 Plus tree - but there are also some smaller ones that have been requested:

Other folders will appear in the near future, such as Media for all calculator models. Comments and suggestions are very welcome.

Update (Niklas): Before you upload V200 files that are simply copies of existing TI-89 or TI-92 Plus ones, please consider requesting a simple link from the existing files by emailing the filearchiver. It will be processed just as fast (faster if pending is full), it will save space on the ticalc.org server, and you will only have to update one file in our archives in the future.

Whoa, that was quick. I haven't seen news posted this closely together for months.

BTW, I sent in an email when the V200PLT was released, but I guess it wasn't newsworthy enough. If you want one, you can buy it at calc.org.

I was trying to hint at that fact (i.e. the V200 has been out for some time now, but we have only recently gotten requests for folders or actual programs for it).

Arcades  Account Info
(Web Page)

Cullen Sauls has released Jigsaw86! A game for the TI-86 where you move a "chopped up" picture around to its original state. (See ticalc.org news item Update: in the Kotf 2 news item). There are two types of cursors and it even shows you how long you took and how many times you sneaked a peak at the puzzle! It includes an on calc editor as well (or you can make pics on the computer if you want).
Goto his site to get the game at:

We're sorry, but our next scene may be too turbulent for some people. Viewer discretion is advised. This scene is rated PG-25.

To run 86 ASM program type this from the homescreen:

Asm(XXXXXXXX

where XXXXXXXX is the name of the program (you could hit prgm,f1,then find the name in the list (may have to hit more) then press the button under the name to past it there.)

i tried that

the link transferred 3 programs

KOTF2
||y|||| (or something like that)
" " (meaning a program where it registered no name

so i ran on the home screen:
Asm(KOTF2

and it says

"error type 10"
"data type"

so what now?

media files will be good. By this you mean things like greyscale pictures? And will they be counted in download stats?

I think it would be nice to have a folder for asm programs devoted to enhancing basic.

Now I have to upload about 15 files to the v200

Cheers

The Media folders are not counted in the statistics, no. That's one of the main reasons they were created.

beautiful. Very beautiful. But maybe you should have two seperate sets of statistics, because while media certainly aren't in the catagory of programs (even BASIC ones) in terms of skill and effort, they do take effort and creators should be recognized.
