Vacation Times
Posted by Henrik on 28 June 2002, 22:00 GMT

It is vacation times for the ticalc.org staff. Being based in the northern hemisphere, we will enjoy summer. I know at least some of us will do some extensive travelling around the globe. Due to this, pending files will grow, help mail will be answered with greater delay, and not much new will happen for a month or two.

The ticalc.org staff wishes all our visitors a good summer (or winter if you are below the equator) and hope you all understand we all need some vacation.

Tell us about your own vacation plans below.

Why do you ":(" programming??
It is a wonderful exercise to strech the brain and enlighten the programmer.

Yep! I have a life! It's like this!
Open TIGCC
Type, Type, Type, etc.
Compile
Run
Make changes to errenous program
Repeat as necessary
Go to ticalc.org
Read all posts
Reply to posts
Go back to programming
Open up Notepad
Make a javascript program
Run it.
Go back to ticalc.org
Complain that the archives aren't updated in over 2 weeks.
Go back to TIGCC again
Try to learn 65k assembly
It's too hard.
Program in C again
Blah Blah Blah
You get the point.

Where did you learn to program in C? I have been learning z80 asm and it is tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard. If I wasn't so impatient I could probably learn it to its entirety, but I don't seem to be getting anywhere.

Where did you learn to program in C?

Well, z80 is for TI-73 82, 83, and 83+

C is for TI-89 and 92+

I learned at technoplaza.net

Download motorola's official documentation, print the integer instruction set summary, and there you have all the information you need to write a disassembler in TI-BASIC! That is one of my (pointless) projects that I put on hold while doing other things, namely writing more software.
On a similar note, I have a program (in C) that I wrote, and it gives me a privilege violation when it ends. Any help?

Privelage violation? Did you use any memory editing? Did you forget to re-enable any of the interrupts? How big is the code?

     22 July 2002, 19:23 GMT

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Vacation Times
slimey_limey  Account Info

I am in Orange County, 1400 miles from home, but the code is about 3 pages long in C, I do not use any interrupts, the program does allocate and deallocate memory (seeing that it is a program to make a 'group' file on a ti89).
In addition, the 'privilege violation' only occurs before the program exits, but in the last 3 lines of code. That does help a little, except that I have commented out and rewritten these lines several times, and the same thing happens.
If iI was at home, I would be able to email you the code, but I am not at home. Thanks for your interest, though!
(I will be at home in about 2.25 weeks)

Hey, I'm making a TI-89 BASIC Organnizer Program that stores Reminders, Schedules, Homework for different Classes, and Phone Numbers. It's been pretty rough, since I've typed it all from hand on the calculator. I also am putting some finishing touches (and testing) on my secret game (lol), and my new version of Javascript Sprite Creater is in the pending queue, so look out for some c00l! programs!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Vacation Times
slimey_limey  Account Info

I just finished making a mini-suite of two programs that will indent and unindent programs copied into text files. It does just about everything that one would expect it to, and it is somewhat slow (which is to be expected from an interpreted language on a 12mhz processor) but versatile. I shall upload it when I get a chance.
In addition, I (re)made the program that I have that I wrote to enlarge images and _eliminate_ the jagged edges! Fun!

More info:
It works on text files (programs copied into them)
it puts the info on the clipborad, because that was all I had, but it could be _easily_ changed to type it directly or create a file, if I had the proper tools.
It is done!!!
I will upload it in a maximum of 2.5 weeks.
w00t!

This usually works.

Okay, I bet no one actually reads this big article anymore, because of it's huge size (except no_one).
But, anyway I released my first version of PICROSS 89. I noticed that all the picross games were only for the 82, 83, 83+, 85, and 86, so I decided to make my own for the 89. I had to totally re-write the code, so the game is different in plenty of ways from the other versions, but it's still really fun. Try it out and tell me what you think. This is it's first release, so if there are any bugs, then please tell me. It's really a fun game, and it has 52 levles to keep you busy with. You can download it on my URL link. I spent over a month writing this. :)
