PLC simulator/emulator released
Posted by Niklas on 28 May 2002, 17:26 GMT

Kuashio has released has released TI-PLC, a PLC simulator/emulator for the Ti-89. The program is based around ladder programming and has a variety of controls and tools to play with. It also supports controlling stuff through the link port, and therefore comes with schematics for building an interface (and a weird example for it that can be a great learning experience :) ).

More TI-89 stuff from the same author can be found on his homepage.

BTW, as you've probably seen over the last few days, we're working our way through the pending files and hope to be back to near-instantaneous (meaning within 24hrs) file adding soon.

The File Information page for this program looks very busy with those four fast-moving animated screenshots. :-/

Hey, if anyone wants to check out an anti-linux, anti-hacking, anti-/. website, go to www.adequacy.org It's hilarious. Most of the people don't know what they are talking about. They call perl pearl. They call linux lunix. it's funny to listen to them rant on. Sign up for an account there an slam them hard. I'm sure that if I post a pro-calculator assembly hacking article that they would go nuts. They would especially love all of us, calc nerds who hate Micro$oft. GO THERE NOW! I'll flood an article with w00t! I'm sorry that that was off topic. w00t!

And in general I think the readers of this site are tolerant of MS, but /.'s readers generally aren't.

Also, there are many anti-slashdot websites. Go to Netcraft and find results for /. (link). You'll find ihateslashdot.org, slashdotsucks.com, etc. And those are only the ones that have slashdot in their domain name--I'm sure there are many more.

At that site, http://www.adequacy.org/ ?op=displaystory;sid=2001/ 12/2/42056/2147 (minus the 2 spaces) is the funniest story ever. It even received 4671 comments. People took it seriously.

It was funny. I even sent it to my enemy's parents. So they started monitoring him & he showed all of the signs so he got busted. (click link for the funny story)

Well, can anyone tell me what the link is before I click it? I don't want to "get busted" or whatever.

It'll take about a half an hour to download over a 56K modem because there are literally 5000+ comments on it. It is also racist... And anti-canadian.

It's just a news item that lists the top ten signs that your son is a hacker. It's very funny and is probably a joke.

That was one of the funniest things I've read on the net.
The scary part is that I know many parents who would take it at face value without question.

Sounds like a good idea, but (I know I'm going to start an evil thread by saying this, but...) Why does everyone here hate microsoft? (oh boy, I can expect a lot of comments coming!)

I don't hate Microsoft! Remember that one time I supported you in your pro-Microsoft post?
I think nobody likes Microsoft because they don't like to see a successful company succeed even more.

Hey cran nium... yeah, I'm bad. I got very little sleep last night. Out late with the girlfriend... then up at 8AM to let some guys in to put new carpet in my basement. Oy vey.

Wow, Jimmy Mardell. That... would... rock. To be associated with him... one of the TICalc 'elder gods'... if only Mr. Nussbaumer would join us... heh.
