One Million for Patrick Davidson
Posted by Eric on 5 May 2002, 01:01 GMT

We're happy to announce that Patrick Davidson, #2 on our list of busiest authors, has passed the six-digit mark in total downloads. With 1,001,456 all-time downloads, Patrick is well in the lead as our most-downloaded author. Congratulations, and thanks for sucking up so much of our bandwidth :)!

I would be number 2 busiest if my programs would have been uploaded sooner...but this is an amazing achievement. 1,000,000+ is a big deal. Great job Pat!

I agree

I haven't played the TI-89 version yet because I haven't got a TI-89 "YET", but it looks great.

Slow news day, huh. :-)

Nice job Patrick.

And btw to ticalc.org- your site doesn't render correctly in the newest Mozilla (build 2002050404), found at mozilla.org. Considering that Netscape is pretty much Mozilla with a different number as well as AIM bundled together, and that Mozilla finally is good (and unlike IE doesn't let websites read all your data with javascript exploits), you might want to fix it. There is a white space on the top of the screen above the graphic.

The top of the page has been rendering fine in every milestone from 0.7 to RC1, so it sounds like you just downloaded a nightly with a bad regression. Mozilla has been handling ticalc beautifully since it finally got the spacing between tables right recently (and I'm not sure if the change there was a bugfix in Mozilla or in the homepage source).

Haven't you people noticed by now that Mozilla sucks? IE keeps getting better and better and Mozilla doesn't seems to add any features, only file size with all its bundles...Oh well.

Heh. You tell yourself that. Obviously you haven't seen RC1 or the newest versions. They can block ads by right clicking on the ad and you'll never get that again, you can block cookies from select sites, and YOU CAN BROWSE IN TABS!

Plus, do you really want to give websites the ability to READ ANY FILE ON YOUR HARD DRIVE? I kid you not. This is an unpatched IE bug, amongst many. See http://jscript.dk/unpatched/ . http://sec.greymagic.com/adv/gm006-ie/ might have a demo of this. Mad funny, can read all your files.

I think you may have missed the boat. Scott has been telling me for quite some time about mozilla, and i finally started using it.
I'm using RC1 (release canidate 1), and it works just fine for all of my internet browsing needs. In some cases, it even works better!
For instance, the tigcc message boards are full of pop-up adds. With IE, i get to see every single one of them.... with Mozilla, I do not see EVEN one of them!

Plus, the browse in tabs feature, and other features are awesome.

<dogcrap>IE has the stuff you said it doesn't in your first two sentences. Anti-Popup thingy in Mozilla is far from great, 3rd party Popup Killer proggy is much better. Second, every browser has its bugs. I don't try to hold my point, since we live in free society, but IE gets better and better which many don't see in Mozilla...</dogcrap>

A famous quote for you to consider: There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who can count, and those who can't.
