ti-cas.org Shutting Down
Posted by Eric on 19 February 2002, 22:28 GMT

This is a bit of old news, but I think it's worth mentioning that ti-cas.org, headed by Olivier Miclo, is shutting down due to conflicts with the French division of Texas Instruments. Read the page for a brief history and Olivier's thoughts on the issue. Sorry to see it go...

ti-cas.org <-> Programming Contest

I have been quite interested in the site (ticas) and go there for updates often. To be honest this is because I submitted a program for the contest on the site. Anyone else here participate? I hope that Oliver still has access to the "prizes" and such, less they were to be contributed by TI-France. Fortunately, however, it seems that the contest is still going to be completed. That make me happy because I put a lot of work into my program (not to say I'll win)...I ought to upload it sometime. Anyhow I'm rambling now, so I'll get going.

Not that anybody cares, but I just uploaded my "exciting" ti-cas contest program. I don't know how long it'll be before it shows up in the archives though. Oh well. Take care everyone.

Well, it wasn't meant as sarcasm, but... no no, no sarcasm. Right at that moment every few minutes a new file appeared and I thought lets encourage that man/woman/boy/girl whoever it was.

7 straight days of file updates ... this might be a new record!
At this rate, the pending files might actually go down to low by the middle of March!

Probably because the only thing to say is "I feel bad about this and i wish it wasn't going down" is there really anything else to say on topic about it?

The thing that interests me that is related to the topic is the programming contest onthe site and how that is going to work out.

Well we could talk about how stupid this guy was to release confidential information and he should have seen this coming. TI doesn't screw around. He should know that.

I am not at the origin of this diffusion.
As it is explained on page 1, Texas Instruments carried out an error by disseminating confidential informations.
It is besides thanks to me that this information had been withdrawn, for I had warned TI-Dallas.

Oliver, i don't think that guy knows what he's talking about. He doesn't see that it's really TI's fault anyhow. By the way, I hate to sound prude, but when do you think that the programming contest results will come? This is probably not the best place to ask. Again I'm terribly sorry about your site. It is sad to not be able to browse through it for all its TI-89 info. Well, I guess I will stop rambling.

Carl

PS: Am I the only one here who feels bad for Oliver? I hope not! Ok, ok, rambling some more. I'll quit it.

Don't even bother ... last time anyone stayed on-topic was before the dinosaurs became extinct.
