TIGCC v0.93 Released
Posted by Eric on 5 February 2002, 09:54 GMT

Sebastian Reichelt of the TIGCC team has released the long-awaited TIGCC v0.93, their C compiler for the TI-89 and TI-92+. Check out the Changelog to find out what's new; a vastly updated IDE seems to be the main improvement. Also check out the source code and the alternative files.

i don't know if this is my new computer, or v.93...... but before, it took 30 seconds to compile and compress one of my games, now it takes like 1 second...... this computer is only 4 times faster than the old one.... so i don't think it can be the computer.... is it now faster?

It seems to be somewhat faster on my computer too. Maybe I'm just losing my mind though.

They have a C compiler for z80, its called "small C" or somthing like that but its kinda not practicle. The programs it generates are very large and slower than what you would normally get with straight assembly.

Yes, so don't gripe that there isn't a TIGCC for the 83(+). Learn Z80 asm instead.

ok my comment may digress from topic but i felt this the best place to place this. could'nt you, as a memory expander for the 89 and 92+ calcs, create a circut board with memory and have a i/o cable sticking out the end with a backup battery? well i would appreceiate any help/ comments. thanks

Already been done. Anybody else remember what I'm talking about? There's some built-in ASM program in the device which lets you transfer to and from the box, which I believe has about 500K or so of extra memory.

Well, I found some stuff...

1. http://sami.ticalc.org/e_pxpand.htm
(use Playstation memory cards as 'disks' for storing/retrieving data)

2. http://bryanr.org/horizon/e2/
A 512KB memory expander for the 85, 85, and 92. Some people have attempted to port the on-calc drivers for it to the 89 and 92+, but the creator has doubts that they work at all.

3. http://www.dvz.fh-koeln.de/~b012414/ expander/expander.html
Not sure exactly what this is. I think it's a general schematic for a memory expansion that would work on the 89/92/92+, but I could be wrong. Seems like it allows you to pick how much you want to add (he mentions a ~1MB expansion).
