Polynomial Root Finder FLASH Application
Posted by Eric on 1 November 2001, 00:56 GMT

TI has recently released its newest flash application, Polynomial Root Finder, for the TI-89 and TI-92+ (log in first to activate link). The application allows a user to quickly calculate the roots of a polynomial and also contains some more advanced features. Thanks to Olivier Miclo for the link.

Let me know if i'm wrong but...isn't this built into my TI-86? I can't believe that it isn't included on the 89/92+.

Yes, but the TI-86 is not as profitable.

I have both an 89 and a 86, the 86 has several funcions built in that the 89 does not, like statistical analysis

The 89 comes with the TIStat flash app built in, or at least it did when I bought mine.

I'm assuming that you mean OneVar, TwoVar, LinReg, QuadReg, etc., and all of those are included in the TI-89 OS, the only thing I don't like is that you can't have two plots from separate data variables. The only thing I know of that the 86 has and the 89 does not is the ability to detect when [2nd] is pushed.

Maybe it's just me but I can't seem to log in to the TI-online store to download this APP. The very first page refuses to load up. But I can browse the rest of TI's website. I am running WinME/IE 6. If anyone ran into this problem and found a way around it, please e-mail me.

Thanks
