TI-83+ OS v1.13 Released
Posted by Eric on 12 April 2001, 04:14 GMT

A whole slew of people have emailed me about a new TI-83+ OS version, so all you 83+ users might want to go check it out. I'm not too sure what's new in this version (the webpage says it "contains advances over OS version 1.12...functionality as well as some fixes"), but hey, it's a bigger version number, so that means it's gotta be better, eh? Or something like that. Anyway, here's the link to the download page. Enjoy!

There's a very good reason for 1.13: silver edition support. 1.13 will run on both the original 83+ and the new silver edition. I don't know if anything was added for the regular 83+. And no, it doesn't run on the current VTI, it needs a simple fix for it to work.

Cool, what will they think of next? Anyways, I think the Silver Ed. support will be usefull for people who want to take advantage of certain details from it. All in all, I think I may download it.

Will the apps that came out for 1.12 work when you convert to 1.13?

Thanks.

"This operating system is for the TI-83 Plus and the TI-83 Plus Silver Edition. It contains advances over OS version 1.12 for the Silver Edition functionality as well as some fixes. Version 1.12 or higher is required before installing any purchased applications."

From url above at TI's site.

No one else has written anything about this, so I will. I find it interesting that it is 1.13, and released just before Friday, April 13.

I tried to download the new OS and when I opened it it opened RealDownload. RealDownload said that it couldn't open it. Did this happen to anyone else?

I think you probably have the .*8xu format associated with realplayer. If you have Win then got to tools, folder options, and then click the file types tab and find 8xu. If it has the real logo, then choose edit and set the directory for your 83+ software.

Well, when I downloaded OS v1.13 it saved it as os113.8xu.netzip. Is this what it defaulted to when you downloaded it?
