New Muchembled Releases
Posted by Eric on 29 January 2001, 00:05 GMT

Julien Muchembled has released new versions of his programs MaxMem v2.20 (for the TI-89 and TI-92+), TIB Receiver v1.10 (for the TI-89 and TI-92+), and HW2Patch v2.30 (for the TI-89 and TI-92+ again). These new versions are updated to work with AMS 2.05, and judging by the response on IRC and such, they look to be pretty nice.

On a side note, longtime ticalc.org users will note that file archive updates have recently been a bit lacking. If you've recently submitted a program and it hasn't appeared yet, no need to worry. Please keep the submissions coming; we might be a bit behind now but we're still alive and well, and plan to get back on our feet quickly. Thanks for the patience.

Hmm. Let's compare your account with kog kog's:

Your username is "zeuslog" and his is "zeuskog."
Your name is "zeus kog" and his is "kog kog."
Your email is zeus003@hotmail.com and his is zeuskog@yahoo.com.
You both live in the US on Windows 95/98 and are at GMT.
You both own the TI-85.
You both program for TI-85 BASIC.
Your spelling and diction is similar.

Coincidence? You tell me.

Yeah, multiple accounts, offtopic posts, POSTS IN ALL CAPS, tons of flamebait, advertisements and spam, repeated line breaks in order to make his posts stand out, this guy does it all.

And what I find hilarious is that the site that he spams about so often gives a 404 file not found error.

Going from plugs to outright lies isn't going to get you more recognized, sir.

OK, How is everybody doing, most of you guy/gal need to have your programs up, right? But whay, for popularity, I am happy with what I have, I may be as rich as Bill Gates but I I am glad for what I have, A billion dollars wont make me happy because I don't need it to be happy. Do some of you agree ot this quote. What I am trying to say is that....I will not surrander because sometimes you must put up an ad(plug) to help yourself, One day when you people work for a company you will know how it feels and what to do, to becomes a sucesser you must sacrifice alot to achieve what you want, and for all those people who has a best friend that you think will work with you injobs and school forever, well... I don't know what to say but this: At the end of the map the knife appeares. In business there is no substitude for victory.

Give it up kog kog. There's almost no way that spamming the ticalc.org message board will help you gain more surfers than something like a directory listing or good search engine ratings. My TI-89 site gets over 1000 page requests every day, mainly from search engines and directories, and the amount of hits from ticalc discussions is miniscule (maybe 4 or 5 a day). But, you will annoy many many more people by bugging them. If this were slashdot, your posts would start at -1. Plus, business implies money is being gained. I don't see how you can get money from 404 errors or a bad website.

And just to clarify something, what you keep posting is not an advertisement or plug. Advertisements imply that you paid for them, but you did not, and at one or two they were plugs, but now it's mass unsolicited comments that violate all of the ticalc.org guidelines, are offtopic, obscure the discussion board with their format, and bug people. That sounds pretty close to spam to me. Keep it ontopic. If there's a news article about a stupid new programming group that spams message boards and gives 404 errors, you can post about olympia there, but don't do it here.

I agree. However, it is sometimes fun to get off topic and just ramble about nothing. It makes the boards more interesting and gives some relief from the monotonous postings of peoples opinions and every other stupid persons comment about what the previos person had to say in agreement, which is just a repetition of the first persons comment, or in opposition, which just creates another post for more people to comment about.(kinda like this!?). But I guess that's the purpose of message boards. Anyway...

Sort of concerning the topic, I'm glad that there are people who give there time to sort through the heaps of files, with no reward but the satisfaction of providing helpful progs to others in need. I wouldn't want to do it! Thanx guys.

Program Submiting Delay Idea
Matt Hockenheimer  Account Info

Hmm... I have an idea that may help with the archive thing. What does everyone think about having the submit queue be open where everyone can look at it? That way, if anyone gets impatient waiting for something to be posted to the main archive, they can get in there and look for it.

It would also be great if we could cancel an upload.

Because I released Universal OS 1.21 before that ticalc add Universal OS 1.20. They worked unnecessarily.

So I don't know if I am going to upload Universal OS 1.21. I would like to correct several things.
