Hard Hat Mack and Hard Hat Mack 2 for Ion
Posted by Nick on 17 January 2000, 06:54 GMT

Hard Hat Mack 2 v1.0Sam Heald of The Void Productions has released ports of Hard Hat Mack and Hard Hat Mack 2 to the popular Ion shell. There aren't many new features in this game, but it's similar to the ancient game for some really old console system of some sort. You have a gun and you attempt to kill enemies and pick up "grails" to complete a level. Though it sounds a bit outlandish, the game really is incredibly fun and addictive. Try it out soon.

Hard Hat Mack: Download for the 83 and the 83 Plus.

Update (Eric): On a somewhat unrelated note, Sam has released an update to one of his other games, BoulderDash v1.1.

Uh, a question (hm.. seems to be the first game related thing here) about Hard Hat Mack 2. How does one (such as I, or such as you, OR SUCH AS THAT AXE WIELDING MANIAC BY YOUR WINDOW) beat the first level? that may seem a little stupid but hey, stupidity is something we all share, deep down inside, it is yearning to climb out and take over you. Don't let it. you are fine the way you are :-P

I strongly suggest reading the manual. Do NOT just go around collecting power ups. One will greatly reduce your time left, one takes away points, and the worst one will take away a grail. If you get a grail taken away, you might not be able to get enough to beat the level (I think level 1 is such a case). Level 2 is not impossible either, you must learn to use the jump button.

My only advice:
1)Don't waste your ammo ever
2)Avoid bad powerups
3)Use the elevators
4)Every level is beatable (I assure you)

On the subject of ION conversion, if you own an 83+, do NOT download BoulderDash v1.0! I accidentally wrote to a ROM area which I was not supposed to, so it will crash your calculator after exiting the game. I fixed the bug this afternoon and uploaded v1.1. Look for it on ticalc.org soon.

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SUBJECT. I just need some help

(ti89 users only) (sorry everyone who doesn't have, one, ti89 is the ONLY calc. i got, so...)
I noticed there is text about physics and mathematics and other great school subjects out there. What I have done is copy a summery of a college level Anatomy textbook (29 LONG chapters) and make all the modifications needed to view it using txtrider. Although I just thought of myself when doing this, it did take a lot of work and quit a bit of time so I want to be able to share what I've done with everyone else out there who's interested in Antomy. (Just to be nice, you know, give back to a site that's given me so much and everything...)
So, the question is, How do I do this?

You just want to send it to another calc? Is that what you're asking? Your question is kinda un-specific, so, if that's what you want to know, I can help you out.

sorry, what I meant was how do I send my Anatomy notes to the www.ticalc.org home screen so others can download it to. You know, just like how we ALL get games and programs from this site.

Well, it says how to contribute to the archives at http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/, if this is what you needed to know.

Excuse me why was my comment thread removed? I did not insult, swear, or anything. The defense of my views was constructive and on topic. I didn't attempt HTML, I merely defended myself. What happened?

Same thing happened to me. I thought TICALC.org had an "anarchy" trial. They said they aren't going to delete anymore comments. Did I misunderstand, or what?

Yeah, I didn't break ANY rules; is there something I did, is there a bias here?

Technically, your threads have broken three rules:
1)Do not post port requests
2)Do not insult others (this is directed more towards the person who replied to your post)
3)Do not post asking why a post was deleted. This rule is in bold ;)

This thread should technically be deleted.

I'm just pointing these out, don't take this as me siding with ticalc.org. I'm rather indifferent on the subject of message deletion. According to the guidelines, if your comment was deleted and you would like to know why, contact ticalc.org administration: http://www.ticalc.org/about/contact.html

Of course, according to Kirk Meyer, all such messages are ignored anyway ;)

Thanks, Sam. Now I can't delete this thread. ;)

Well, since Sam hit the nail on the head, I'm going to let this thread slide. If you do ever have a question, the correct thing to do is to email news@ticalc.org with the contents of your comment (as closely as you remember). The wrong thing to do is always to post asking why the comment was deleted.

Asking why a given comment was deleted is also off-topic, and if you continuously post to ask why your comments were deleted, you risk losing your posting priviledges.

While I can't guarrantee you'll agree with our reasons, I'll always let you know /why/ your comment was deleted (provided I'm the one that deleted it).

Anyhow, I deleted your comment for reason #1 given by Sam, let the masses note.

But you guys had an "Anarchy Trial" where you will never delete anymore comments unless it has profanity! I don't want to be kicked off, so I just want to clerify this.

But I didn't request a port. I never used the word "port" in my comment. I'm not a newbie - I know ports are ridiculously difficult.
