TI Redesigns Website
Posted by Michael on 14 December 2007, 15:49 GMT

TI has redesigned their education.ti.com website. Unlike some of the previous designs, TI actually seems to have created a coherent, non-garish website. In my opinion, this is their best color scheme to date. The design now extends to 84silver.com as well. Also note the prominent product placement of DLP televisions in the Student Zone.

I like the site's new look. I think it might actually be easier to find things on there (though I haven't tried looking yet).

I still prefer the layout of Ti-Calc, but a frameset on the left side for navigation would be helpful, and user customizable schemes would be cool too.

Is it me or does this news really give me impression of very very recent deja vu?

Nvm I think this must have been on a different site or it was calc.org, but I was sure ti did a redesign not so long ago. I like the new one better though

"In my opinion?" Since when did ticalc.org change from a news site to a blog?

At least we have not gotten to the level of a "based on a true story" movie yet :P

I normally provide scathing commentary every time TI redesigns their website. Unfortunately, (or fortunately) this time they've done well.

Interesting to note that CalcG.org and Detached Solutions each get links in the "Games & Apps" section of the Student Zone, but no such link for ticalc.org appears. . .

Sad. . . very sad. . .

Surely you know the story of why this is so.

well considering he has a high member ID maybe he missed it but yeah it's all about the ticalc CD fiasco. TI used to distribute a CD with ticalc.org archives on it back in 2001 but then a mother found ASCII porn on it and complained at TI, and since then TI stopped anything involved with ticalc.org and even removed their links from their page.

There was even a period where all ticalc archives were down after this, as they had to check through all programs and this is not long after that ticalc.org added the "report innapropriate file" feature.

Wow, TI did well this time.

I realize this is not really the place, but what the hell happened? I mean, this site used to be quite the happenin' place. Granted that was on the order of 4 years ago, but still. I still remember all the fights....

I guess the art of calculator programming is weakening, just like the art of creating DOS games...

Never!

There's an awful lot of talk going on about nothing...every site has its slowdowns, and it IS Christmas time. Or, "holiday time", sorry. Everybody's busy at the moment.
