Wizards for the 83/83+
Posted by Michael on 2 October 2005, 05:25 GMT

[Wizards] Wizards for the 83/83+ is a member of an often underrepresented segment of calculator gaming: card games. According to the author, it is similar to Magic: The Gathering. In Wizards you are fighting against other creatures in order to win cards and money so as to progress to the top. I really know absolutely nothing about card games, so if you like card games, just download it.

I have 6 draw too more cards in my deck. And after I draw up my 40 card deck. A turn after a wierd card came out. the image made no sence and all the discriptions are blank. After I coose it the game crashed! and my save was deleted. The game also copied it self in to my breakout levels file.

I have also had that same problem with the program copying itself to other programs. It copied over some of my physics programs and other games I had. *ponders* I'll email the author now...just in case..

I encountered this problem too but i would think someone would hesitate from using something that is obviously bugged. i mean its common sense people use your heads. i didnt choose the bugged card though, and the game continued by using cards in the sideboard. everyone should know about this.

also i go to revsoft but no games show up on anything. can someone give me the specific address where gamesshow up on revsoft?

well, now i have a major issue report. I was playing Wizards for about 10 minutes...(I have yet to beat the game) and never encountered a bug while playing. After I closed it out, it copied itself to my MirageOS and placed a password on Mirage, and scrambled all my prgms. I fixed it by deleting Mirage, but that isn't what I want to do everytime...anyone else have this problem yet...with MirageOS?

This seems to happen with a lot of Mirage games - Wolfenstein, for example. It's nasty when it copies over other programs, but if it just overwrites an appvar, you can just delete it. Hopefully it's just the MirageOS appvar... I'd hate to lose an hour of NoteFolio work to that.

I never encountered such a problem on my ti-84 :) however, some programs dont show up on mirage sometimes after garbage collecting, but it's fixed by unarchiving and archiving again. and we still want the exact address to find games on revsoft.

Well, apparently, he hasn't uploaded newer versions yet. I'm not RevSoft staff, so I can't tell you for sure.

We don't have an archive (well, as far as I know), so go to the Wizards forum. In the first post of the main thread (the one called "Wizards!") there's a link to the beta version. I'm not sure if it points to the newest one or what.

well then why does that one guy keep saying "this problem may have been fixed"? some people actually have lives and dont take all their time to satisfy all your requests to make this game better day to day. it is only the beta version wait at least a few weeks and stop trying to confuse us!

Huh? By "your requests", I assume you don't mean me... No one's trying to confuse you.

well i dont mean you. by your requests i mean how everyone keeps asking for updates, and then the one guy (i think the name is srunni) keeps saying go to revsoft and check for the latest version and then no one finds games and its all very confusing!

Why do programs not show up on mirage sometimes after garbage collecting? That is a problem I've been annoyed at!

I had this game for about a week now and it's the most AWESOME game I have ever had. Such strategy games like this need to be downloaded NOW. NOTE to all the newwbies in the TI-games industry.

There are only a couple of things I can think of to improve this game (other then fixing the bugs =P ) Those few things are:

Add two player link battle.

Add the capablity of having more then one deck.

Add more cards.

Add a storyline (And make it corny, video games about card games are supposed to have horrible storylines!)

Hey!

Great Game!
I played till like crazy and beat al of the basic bosses with ease. Keep this up! The only thing i was not to keen about was the card bug, where you got a freaky card. Also, i noticed that when you finish off your deck, you get to go through it AGAIN! this needs to be changed.

Other than that, it is a great game!
